Prior to India’s tour of tour of England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) formulated a rule where the WAG’s of Indian cricket can only accompany their partners for 14 days after the completion of the first two weeks. However, most recently, Virat Kohli, the 29-year-old Indian captain, has requested for a change in the rule.

The Delhi-born cricketer has requested the world’s cricket board to allow the wives to accompany them on overseas tours. He first approached a BCCI officer regarding the issue. He also got an assurance that the message would be conveyed to the Committee of Administrators (CoA).  However, it has been learned that the CoA has put the decision on hold.

Kohli slammed left-right and centre

“ Yes he requested but we are not going to take any decision soon, we have said we will leave it to the new office bearers. The policy will not change now,” a source mentioned. During England’s tour, Virat was criticised to some extent when Anushka Sharma, his better-half, appeared in the picture of the Indian team at the High Commission event in London.

The photograph didn’t include the spouses of the other players and the same agitated the supporters. Virat is currently playing in India’s two-match Test series against the Windies, which the home team is leading 1-0 after their innings and 272-run victory at SCA Stadium in Rajkot. From the personal front, he had a decent match, both as the captain and a batsman.

Not only did he lead with authority, but also notched 139 runs to become his team’s highest run scorer in the match. After the Windies campaign, India are scheduled to tour Australia for a Test, ODI and T20I series, which gets underway next month. In the meantime, Twitter slammed him for putting forth his request to the BCCI regarding a change in the rule.
