India and Pakistan are playing for the second time in the last four days in the ongoing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to bat first with a hope that the batsmen will make amends for a poor show and post a decent total on the board. But they have got off to yet another poor start by losing the in-form Imam-ul-Haq early thanks to the MS Dhoni who prompted the skipper Rohit Sharma to take a review.

Pakistan openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam were looking cautious today and didn’t throw their wicket away. Despite playing a plethora of dot balls, the duo stayed adamant to play the same way and the run-rate was hovering around three right from the word go and Rohit introduced the leggie Yuzvendra Chahal into the attack as early in the eighth over.

He started well and made sure that the good work done by the fast bowlers doesn’t go in vain. However, the last ball of the over bowled by him was the googly and it spun sharply for Imam. The batsman didn’t pick it and missed to get the bat on it which stuck behind the flap of his pad. There was a half-hearted appeal from the bowler but then the wicketkeeper MS Dhoni nodded his head when Rohit asked him.

Umpire reversed his decision

Many would’ve thought that Team India will lose their review early once again. But once the replays confirmed that there was no inside-edge, there was a realistic chance of them getting a wicket. Once the hawk-eye was shown on the big screen there was a big roar from the crowd as there were reds and Dhoni’s decision to go for the review was absolutely spot on.

The umpire had to reverse his decision and Pakistan were under pressure once again. The duo of Fakhar and Babar Azam is rebuilding right now and they would hope now the run-scoring increases somehow. Meanwhile, Twitter was full of praise for Dhoni and they hailed the veteran for his contribution to Indian cricket.
