Mumbai Indians skipper smashed two more boundaries off T Natarajan in the fifth over but got caught out while attempting a flick shot. Rohit scored 28 off 18 with the help of six fours as Mumbai Indians have scored 42/1 after five overs.

Virat Kohli leads the scoring chart in IPL with 6844 runs from 228 IPL games and is expected to become the first-ever cricketer to reach the 7000-run mark. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper has already registered three fifties from five innings in IPL 2023 to throw his name in the Orange Cap race.

Shikhar Dhawan has scored 6477 runs from 210 IPL matches, including 233 runs from four innings this season. Punjab Kings skipper has been in sensational form this season as he competes for the Orange Cap again. David Warner reached the 6000-run mark during his 65 off 55 knocks against Rajasthan Royals on April 8. He became the first overseas player to join the elite list as he enjoys a great run with a bat despite Delhi Capitals’ poor start to IPL 2023.

In other milestones this season, Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul became the fastest to 4000 runs in IPL history during his latest fifty against Punjab Kings while Chennai Super Kings stalwart MS Dhoni completed 5000 runs in IPL.
