South Africa continued their victory march in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as they beat New Zealand by 190 runs on Wednesday, November 01 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. After being put in to bat first, the Temba Bavuma-led side posted a massive total of 357/4 in their allotted 50 overs as Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen scored spectacular hundreds.
In reply, the Proteas’ bowling attack once again stamped their authority as they skittled New Zealand for just 167 in 35.3 overs. Glenn Phillips was the lone warrior in the Kiwi innings with his knock of 60 off 50 balls. On the other hand, Keshav Maharaj starred with the ball for South Africa with figures of 4/46 in nine overs while Marco Jansen (3/31, 8 overs) also picked three wickets.

Earlier in the day, after being put in to bat first, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma (24 off 28) got dismissed after a decent start as he got caught at slip by Daryl Mitchell leaving his side on 38/1 after 8.3 overs.
Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen scored hundreds for South Africa
Following his dismissal, Rassie van der Dussen (133 off 118) and Quinton de Kock (114 off 116) got involved in a massive 200-run stand for the second wicket off 189 balls to put pressure on the opposition. De Kock registered his fourth hundred of the tournament and also breached the 500-run mark in the ongoing event.
After the end of their massive stand, David Miller walked in at number four and scored a quick-fire half century scoring 53 off just 30 balls to help his side cross the 350-run mark. As a result, South Africa posted a massive score of 357/4 in their allotted 50 overs. Tim Southee was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand with figures of 2/77 in ten overs while Trent Boult scalped 1/49 in ten overs.
