Twitter Reactions: MS Dhoni and Ashwin to play for Pune, Rajkot bags Raina in IPL 2016 draft: The IPL 2016 Draft turned out to be interesting, as major names made the round. Pune did well to bag MS Dhoni while Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja went to Rajkot. The fans will miss out on the Raina-Dhoni bond, but they can still relish Ravichandran Ashwin bowl with Dhoni behind the stumps.
Earlier, Sanjeev Goenka’s New Rising won the bid for the Pune franchise while Intex won the bid for Rajkot after a reverse bidding process held in Delhi on December 8 to replace suspended teams Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for the next two editions to be held in 2016 and 2017.
Pune were given the choice to pick the players first because they were the lowest bidders (negative bids) to buy the new team for two years.
“The two new franchises have the option to pick a maximum of five players from the draft. Those players who are unsold will be put up for being chosen at the players’ auction to be held in next February,” the council said.
Apart from Dhoni, Raina, Jadeja and Ashwin; in-form batsman Ajinkya Rahane was roped in by Pune, whereas West Indian All-rounder Dwayne Bravo will play for Rajkot. Faf du Plessis will get to play with his Chennai Super Kings skipper MSD while Brendon McCullum will turn out for Rajkot.
Here is the list-
Pune: MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Steve Smith, Faf du Plessis
Rajkot: Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Brendon McCullum, James Faulkner, Dwayne Bravo.
Twitterati were all buzzing after the bids got over. Here are the Twitter Reactions to the IPL 2016 draft:

Do bear in mind this is only a draft to pick 5 players for two teams. Not a full blown auction.

Can understand the angst among #CSK supporters. But the Lodha Commission only implemented the existing IPL rules. See you in 2018.

MS Dhoni will now play for Pune. Which means he has shifted from the best place to get Sambhar, to the worst place to get Sambhar.
