The two match winners for Chennai Rhinos, Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth have come with a mutual decision to miss this year’s Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) which starts from December 26. These two famous personalities have to come this conclusion in a way to maintain their self-respect and dignity. It appears that they have a lot of differences with the Rhinos team management which plays the major role in their disagreement.
Both Vishnu and Vikranth announced their absence from the tournament through their respective Twitter handles. Their emotions got reflected in the messages in which they clearly mentioned that their pride is far more important to themselves. Vikranth also thanked Vishnu for always being standing next to him in all situation and honoring his decision. They have played a decent amount of professional cricket before stepping into the acting industry and are also key players in this star-studded league.
Questions were being raised frequently on us
In a conversation with India Today, Vishnu revealed that initially everything was fun and great while playing in CCL, but later on there was too much pressure on them. He mentioned the fact that their cricketing decisions were being questioned quite frequently. They never liked this kind of attitude of the team management towards two of the most talented players in the league.
“When we started to play CCL, it was purely for fun. We enjoyed it. But later there were too much of pressure on us and our (his and Vikranth) cricketing decisions were questioned frequently,” said Vishnu as quoted by India Today.
Vishnu also said that despite proving themselves with both bat and ball, they had to provide justification for all their moves in the game. This all affected their game and all the enjoyment vanished after a certain point of time which forced them part ways with the Rhinos in this year’s tournament.
“In spite of proving ourselves with the bat, and taking some important wickets, we had to keep justifying the moves that we make. This eventually led to a state where we stopped enjoying the game altogether. So, we both collectively decided to back off from this year’s tournament,” he added.
