Vivo IPL 2016: Salary details of retained players

The Indian Premier League (IPL) today released actual salary details of the players retained by the six franchises for the upcoming Vivo IPL 2016. The salary numbers were given out a day after the IPL trading window was closed on the 31st December. Delhi’s Kedar Jadhav was the only player traded during the period as he was picked up by the RCB while all the existing teams released 61 players for the auction and retained 101 players.
The best salary that a retained player earns is Mumbai Indian’s two-time IPL winning skipper Rohit Sharma. Sharma as per the details given on iplt20.com is paid INR 115,000,000. Kolkata Knight Riders’ champion captain Gautam Gambhir is behind Rohit among the players who pocket best salaries from their teams with a package worth INR 100,000,000.
Retaining each player in the team has a particular cost for the franchise which is deduced from their auction purse; the deductions vary from INR 40,000,000 to INR 125,000,000 which is even higher than what the players are paid.
