‘Want your 71st century in Pakistan’ – Fan comes up with special poster for Virat Kohli in Rawalpindi Test

If not runs, centuries have certainly dried up for Virat Kohli in the last couple of years. The 33-year-old slammed his last international century back in November 2019 and the entire cricket world is eagerly waiting for his 71st ton in Team India colours. Meanwhile, a fan has expressed his desire to see Kohli’s next hundred on Pakistan soil.

In the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and Australia in Rawalpindi, a spectator was spotted holding Kohli’s poster with the text reading: “We want your 71st century in Pakistan.” Needless to mention, the picture went viral in no time and became a talking point among netizens. It must be noted that Kohli is yet to play an international game in Pakistan as India last toured their neighbouring country way back in 2008.

Back then, Kohli wasn’t a part of the Indian team set-up and it remains to be seen whether the fan’s desire fulfills or not. It must be noted that India and Pakistan haven’t played any bilateral series since a decade amid political tension between the two nations. Hence, they only meet in multi-national tournaments like World Cups, Champions Trophy, and Asia Cup.

Virat Kohli completes 100 Test matches

Coming back to Kohli, the former Indian skipper completed 100 Test matches during the recently-concluded first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali. While the right-handed batter did play some delightful shots and looked set to muster a big score, he fell prey to Lasith Embuldeniya at a personal score of 45. Nonetheless, Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round heroics meant India comprehensively clinched the contest by an innings and 222 runs.

As far as the Rawalpindi Test is concerned, Paksitan declared at a mammoth 476/4 after electing to bat first. Australia, however, made a fight back with the bat as they finished Day 3 at 271/2, trailing by 205 runs. As the track still looks pretty solid to bat on and two days of play left, the game is heading towards a draw.
