Former English cricketer Matthew Fleming was considered to be one of the legends at the county level with his all-around capabilities. With some legendary names in the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Jacques Kallis, and Glenn McGrath missing in the eleven, his team has quite a few surprises.

He has gone for none other than the ‘Wall of Indian cricket’ – Rahul Dravid along with the aggressive opening batsman, Matthew Hayden from Australia to open the innings for his eleven. Joe Root, who is one of the best batsmen of the current generation is at the key no.3 spot.

The ‘genius’ of Brian Lara will add flair to the middle-order, who will be joined by the skipper of the side Colin Cowdrey, the former England cricketer. “The reason I have gone to him is, without him, I wouldn’t have been playing cricket”, he said.

The man who raised the spirit of cricket, Adam Gilchrist takes the gloves and one of the best all-rounders of all time, Ian Botham of England will add the much-needed balance for the side.

The bowling unit that he has decided to go with comprises of two spinners and two fast bowlers. Leg-spin of Shane Warne and off-spin of Muttiah Muralitharan is more than enough to trouble any batting line-up. And they are joined by the likes of Pakistan’s Wasim Akram and the wily Curtly Ambrose of West Indies – two of the fearsome bowlers in cricket history.

Matthew Fleming’s All-time XI: Matthew Hayden, Rahul Dravid, Joe Root, Brian Lara, Colin Cowdrey (c), Adam Gilchrist (wk), Ian Botham, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Curtly Ambrose, Muttiah Muralitharan.
