Watch: South African team celebrates AB de Villiers 100 Tests: The South African cricket team recently celebrated the occasion of their ODI captain, AB de Villiers’, 100^th Test match at the Ritz Carlton, Bengaluru. The video begins with Vernon Philander giving the introduction saying that the occasion for which they all look dressed up is AB’s 100^th test match. The young bowling sensation, Kagiso Rabada then has his bit to say. He says that its 100 not out and is still looking good for more.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for the event and the walls had posters quoting different legends of the game and what they had to say about AB. A good focus was on VVS Laxman’s quote “AB de Villiers is the most complete player of the modern era.” Simon Harmer is seen saying that his dream was to play just one test match for his country and playing a 100 test matches is a big achievement. Fast bowler Morne Morkel is seen quoting “The icon status that AB has and still being such an unbelievable human just shows the quality of the man”.

AB de Villiers then says that he never thought or ever dreamt about this and is very happy. He looked all the way more pleased as he then said that his parents would be coming the day after. Vernon Philander is all praise for AB and says that AB has been one hell of player for a long time and he certainly deserves his 100^th test match. He quotes “One thing is for sure, the whole crowd will be behind him” and smiles.

De Villiers also says that his team mates are is second family and it feels great to be spending the evening with them.

The celebration took place on the eve of the 2^nd test Match of the four match test series between India and South Africa. It however had a very disappointing end as four out of the five playing days were washed out due to rain. For AB, there was little consolation as he did get to play his 100^th game at his second home Bengaluru, as he proudly says, on the first day. De Villiers scored 85 runs before being dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. His family was seen supporting him from the stands and so were the crowds.
