Watch: South African team off for a Tiger safari

2 Min Read

While the South African batsmen were searching for answers to the spinning tracks before the start of the fourth and the final Test, the bowling unit seemed pretty relaxed. Before leaving for Delhi for the final Test, the South African players went for a Tiger Safari in Nagpur.

Morne Morkel mentioned that it was only the bowlers club that came for the outing and added that batsmen were probably mentally tired trying to fight out on difficult wickets. Kyle Abbott was very excited as he expresses that it’s pretty exciting and it is something that he always has seen on TV and so coming out to see it for real is amazing.

The players went in two separate groups. Shaun Pollock, Dane Vilas, Simon Harmer and Morne Morkel were together on one vehicle and Dale Steyn, Kyle Abbott were on the other. While one group was lucky enough to spot a tiger, the other group had to be contented with monkeys, samba and deer.

Dale Steyn and Kyle Abbott absolutely loved the sight of the tiger and said that they followed the big cat and saw it marking its territories. They claim that they now have the bragging rights as it was their group that spotted the tiger.

“It is important to get out of the hotel to blend in and enjoy the cultures and this is a little bit different. I really enjoy the wildlife,” quoted Morkel.

The South African side suffered a 3-0 loss in the Test series but had emerged victorious in the T20I and ODI series earlier. They definitely had a good time exploring India!
