India celebrated its 75th Independence Day on August 15 2022 and the flag hoisting ceremony was carried out early in the morning in all parts of the country. PM Narendra Modi hoisted the tri-color flag at Red Fort and then went on to deliver a speech on the occasion of this auspicious day.

Meanwhile, many cricketers from India as well as other members of the cricketing fraternity also celebrated 75 years of Indian Independence. However, there were many of the modern-day overseas greats of the game who came forward and wished India. They included the likes of Kane Williamson, Jos Buttler, AB de Villiers, etc.

You guys are one of the most passionate fans ever: Jos Buttler

Taking to his official Twitter handle England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler wrote, “Happy 76th #Independence day India!  You guys are one of the most passionate fans ever.  Congratulations on #75NotOut from all of us @BCCI @IPL @Dream11 @jbairstow21 #kanewilliamson @ABdeVilliers17 @faf1307 @KagisoRabada25

At the same time, Buttler also shared a video where other cricketers including the likes of Proteas pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada, veteran batter Faf du Plessis, and Jos’ teammate Jonny Bairstow gave their beautiful wishes to India.

“Namaste India. 75 Not Out and going strong. Happy Independence Day India. I have always enjoyed my time in India. Good luck and keep cheering”, said Jos Buttler while interacting in the video.

However, it was Kagiso Rabada’s message that arguably stood out from the rest.

“I never thought I could see love outside of my South Africa, but India blows my mind every single time. Happy 75th Independence Day to all the lovely cricket fans out there. We are because you are”, said Rabada.

Heading into India’s 75th Independence Day many social media users of this country changed their respective profile pictures to support the government’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged all the citizens to hoist the tricolor at their homes.
