Former Australia wicketkeeper Ian Healy recently teed off at Virat Kohli, saying that the Indian captain’s behaviour in Bangalore on Sunday was “unacceptable” and that he needs to show more respect on the field. While Kohli did not react to the comments instantly, he did not shy away from replying to Healy’s comments after leading India to a dramatic win on Tuesday.
Healy had said, “The pressure is starting to tell on (Kohli). I’m losing respect for him. He’s got to be a lot more respectful of his opponents. The stuff he did with Steve Smith was unacceptable.”
Responding to his comments, Kohli said that he the country’s 1.2 billion people are with him and that everyone is aware of how Healy behaved in Centurion when he was dismissed, and if needed people can watch the replay of that incident on Youtube.
“We’ve got 1.2 billion people in India, one person doesn’t make a difference to my life. Also, you need to go and search on YouTube when he was given out down the leg side – I heard he said something about me not having good behaviour with the umpires. I think you all should Youtube that video and I think that says it all.”
Virat was also unhappy with the way Australian captain Steve Smith kept asking the dressing room before opting for DRS. When Smith was caught trapped in front of the wickets, he looked in the direction of the dressing room before umpire Nigel Llong interfered. Justifiably, Virat also lost his cool and did not mince his words in the press conference.

Speaking on the DRS controversy, he said, “We’ve been inconsistent with DRS but one thing is for sure, we don’t ask for help from upstairs (dressing room). They’d been doing it for 3 days. You don’t cross a certain line in cricket.”
