England made it the finals of World T20 for the 2nd time after ending New Zealand’s unbeaten run in the tournament with a comfortable win in the 1st semi-final at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
After winning the toss, England asked New Zealand to bat first. Despite scoring well in the first 10 overs, New Zealand failed to score in the death overs, especially in the last 4 overs as they lost 5 wickets in this period to finish with 153/8 in 20 overs.
Jason Roy got England off to a flyer along with Alex Hales. Roy did the major damage while Hales gave him most of the strike. England lost 3 wickets in a quick span with the required run rate less than 6 in last 7 overs. Joe Root and Jos Buttler finished off the game in style with 17 balls to spare.
