WWE superstar John Cena to bat for Peshawar Zalmi Foundation

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been one of the very famous sources of entertainment for the fans across the globe. WWE stars have a massive fan-following in the subcontinent as well. Recently, WWE star John Cena was seen donning a cricket jersey alongside former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson.

The Australian star was teaching Cena how to do the batting. The WWE superstar was in Australia to promote his upcoming flick “Ferdinand”. Alongside Watson, Cena was attempting to play a shot after the former gave him some tips at Sydney Thunders Ground. Cena has acted in a number of movies like The Marine and 12 Rounds in the Hollywood.

But WWE star was seen in a video posted on Twitter by a user was taking the guard like a Baseball player. He had a wild swing at the ball but eventually missed the ball allowing it to smash the timbers behind him. John Cena later posted about his presence at the cricket ground saying he played some poor cricket. The tweet can be seen below.

Pakistan Super League’s team Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi replied on the tweet saying that the WWE star soon will be picking the bat for his foundation, “Soon a bat for @PeshawarZalmi @ Foundation too from @JohnCena !” said Afridi in a tweet post which can be seen below.

Pakistan has been putting every possible effort in order to revive the Cricket on their soil and If someone of John Cena‘s stature picks bat for them, It would help them a lot. This news would have surely made the fans of John Cena in Pakistan excited for sure as they will wait for an official confirmation.

Cena has won the WWE Championship for the record 16 times, he sits at the top along with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. When he returns to the Royal Rumble next year, Cena will try to go past the record of Flair.
