Cricketers are really hard-working and they try their best to bring glory to the nation. In this age and day, each move of a player is reported whether he is on the field or off the field. Even the silliest of rumours spread like a forest fire. Among them, there are certain stories which have been blown out of proportion and it has provided some laugh out loud moments.

1) Navjot Singh Sidhu – Stabbing an umpire
In India, if there is one cricketer who can take up stand-up comedy as a profession, then it is Navjot Singh Sidhu. The dashing opener once cracked the cricket ball to all parts of the ground and now he is cracking speeches in the Indian Parliament. Along with his political career, Sidhu used to be a famous television personality with his witty commentary work.
He has also served the role of a judge in reality shows such as The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and Comedy Nights with Kapil where he used to laugh like an individual who is having a Pseudobulbar effect. The fun-loving cricketer surely loves his quotient of humour but even he may not enjoy this rumour which spread across the country in 1996. India and Pakistan were battling it out in the Sharjah Cup and the tensions were already high with Sidhu stroking a ton against the arch-rivals.
During this time, Aamir Sohail started sledging the right-hander and in the heat of the moment, Sidhu started walking towards him with a raised bat. Immediately the umpires intervened and calmed down the situation but news started making rounds that the Indian stabbed the umpire with stumps.
