Ever since Prithvi Shaw has reached the three-figure mark in his debut Test match in Rajkot, the wishes are flooded for the youngster on social media. The 293rd Test player for India batted superbly while opening the innings for the team and made light work of the nerves on his international debut. Amidst the praises from the cricketing fraternity, the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has come up with a special tweet for the youngster for making his opportunity count.
Unlike many nervous openers, Shaw took the strike to face the first ball of the match in the very first match of his career. Though he left the harmless ball outside the off-stump, it must’ve made him feel better as the 18-year-old middled the very next ball and was off the blocks in the same over.
Despite losing his partner KL Rahul in the first over of the innings, Shaw didn’t perturb and smashed the ball to all the parts of the ground. He wasn’t sparing any bowler who offered even the slightest of width while respecting some really good deliveries.
Cricketing wonder has emerged
Soon, Prithvi Shaw had reached his half-century off just 56 balls and was looking good for his century. He lived up to the expectations and notched up his first three-figure in whites at the highest level off just 99 deliveries. His knock was an exhibition of some delightful strokes and has already sealed a place for the upcoming Australia tour and is one of the brightest prospects for the future.
Amitabh Bachchan was thrilled to bits after watching the young batsman dominate the opposition and went on to say that he is a cricketing wonder to watch out for. The legendary actor also backed Shaw to keep rising in his career and hoped that he will bring more laurels to the country in the upcoming years.
