India will be facing arch-rivals Pakistan in the second match of Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, August 28. Both teams will be renewing their rivalry after their last T20I clash at the very same venue where the Men in Green ended their 29-year World Cup jinx over India with an emphatic 10-wicket win.

This time both teams have already suffered a huge setback as far as their pace attack is concerned due to injuries. While India will be without the services of premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, Pakistan will be without pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim. Thus, the bowling will be a bit of a concern for both sides and while the onus will be on Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh to provide regular breakthroughs for the Indian team, the Pakistanis would be banking on Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali.

India’s top order consisting of skipper Rohit Sharma, vice-captain KL Rahul, and batting megastar Virat Kohli might not have been in good touch until now, but they do have a rock-solid middle-order to fall back on with Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya making stellar contributions with the bat in the last couple of months. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether the team management would be picking Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik as the first-choice wicketkeeper-batter for this high-octane clash.

Pakistan’s batting line-up completely revolves around captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan’s opening stand and Fakhar Zaman’s contributions. Nonetheless, the middle-order needs to step up if they are to pose any challenge to a strong Indian team.
