Bangladeshi all-rounder Nasir Hossain is confident of turning things around in the ongoing second Test between Australia and Bangladesh at Chittagong. The hosts were totally outplayed on the second day of the Test. They were bowled out on 305 in their first innings. It was veteran spinner Nathan Lyon who scalped 7 wickets to be the star for the Australian team.
Later in the day, Australian batsmen batted sensibly to ensure that they ended up with 225/2 by the end of day’s play. Skipper Steve Smith, opener David Warner, and batsman Peter Handscomb scored valuable fifties. Warner will resume the third day on 88 and Handscomb will start his innings at 69. With Australia trailing by only 80 runs, one could easily tip Bangladesh to be playing the catching game in the Test. However, Nasir Hossain believes anything can happen in the game and things can turn around very quickly.
“We are still 80 runs ahead. Cricket is a type of game that you can’t predict anything. Many things can change during one or one and half hour in Tests. Bowlers didn’t do bad. If you see, usually Warner doesn’t bat so slow like he did today, which means we bowled well. We just didn’t get wickets,” quoted Nasir Hossain.
Not thinking about the result
Speaking further on the same note, as per the quotes in bdcrictime.com, Nasir mentioned that the match will last for the entire course of five days. He also stressed on the fact that the players are not overthinking about the end result. They are keen on performing well in the game.
“The game can change at any moment. The result is not going to come tomorrow. The play will last five days. We are not thinking about the result at all. We are only thinking about what is in our hands,” he added.
