Bang vs Pak: 1st Test – Statistical Report: Pakistan’s wait to win a game in their ongoing Bangladesh tour continued as a fight back from the hosts in the second innings as the match ended in a pale draw with quite a few records broken. Here, we look at all the stats during the game.
Statistical Report of Bangladesh vs Pakistan:
–> Misbah ul Haq became the oldest player to lead a side in Test cricket.
Misbah has led Pakistan in 35 tests so far, the second most by any Pakistani captain after Imran Khan.
–> Mominul Haque scored his 8th fifty in his test career, which was also his 12th fifty plus score in the 13 test matches he played so far.
Mominul’s test average at end of the game is 61.85, the fourth best recorded average with a minimum of 1000 test runs.
Mominul scored a fifty in his 10th consecutive test match, the only 7th player to do it.
He also completed 3000 runs in First class cricket during the game.
–> Mohammad Hafeez scored his century in 3 consecutive matches, only the 7th Pakistani to do so.
Hafeez now has scored 3 150 plus scores as opener in Tests, equally the second most by a Pakistani.
Hafeez scored his first double century in test cricket as well as in first class cricket. He went past his previous highest score of 197.
Pakistan’s first innings was only the second instance when all the top 6 partnerships produced 50-run stands. Previous was by Australia vs West Indies in 1960 at Gabba.
–> Tamim Iqbal scored his 7th test century, the most by a Bangladeshi batsman.
Tamim hit 7 sixes during his innings, the most by a Bangladeshi batsman in a Test innings.
Tamim Iqbal scored his first ever double century in test cricket, also the first in FC. It was only the 2nd double century by a Bangladeshi player in Tests.
Tamim became the 11th batsman to reach double ton by hitting a Six.
Tamim Iqbal’s 206 was the highest individual score for a Bangladeshi player in Test Cricket.
–> Imrul Kayes became the second Bangladeshi player to score two fifties in a Test match.
Kayes recorded his highest test score of 150 crossing his previous best of 130. It was his first ever 150+ score in a Test innings.
He also completed 1000 test runs during his innings of 150.
–> Both Tamim and Imrul scoring 150 was only the 13th instance in Test Cricket when both the openers of a team scored 150+ in same innings.
This was also the first ever Test match where at least an opener from both sides scored a double century in the match with Hafeez and Tamim scoring double tons.
–> Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes put on a stand of 312 for the first wicket, the highest partnership by a Bangladeshi pair in test cricket for any wicket.
Previous highest stand for any wicket was 267 whereas 224 was their previous highest opening stand also between these two.
This was also the first ever Triple century stand for first wicket in a team’s 2nd innings.
–> For the first time, Pakistan conceded 500+ total in a team’s 2nd innings.
–> Bangladesh’s 555/6 was their 3rd highest score in Test Cricket. It was also the first time they scored 500+ in their 2nd innings of the match.
–> This was the first ever Bangladesh-Pakistan test match that ended without Pakistan winning the game. Pakistan won all the 8 Test matches played against Bangladesh earlier.
