After winning the series opener comfortably, Bangladesh will be keen to keep winless Zimbabwe on the tour when they take the field in the second T20I on Wednesday. It was yet again the Liton Das show in the first T20I where he scored a half-century and stitched a brilliant opening stand with Tamim Iqbal after which Soumya Sarkar took over and smashed an unbeaten 62 off 32 deliveries to help Zimbabwe post 200 runs on the board.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have struggled completely on this tour and will have to play their best cricket at any cost to have any chance of leaving the country with a win to their name. While their bowlers haven’t done enough to keep a lid on the run-scoring, the top-order has been poor as well. The likes of Sikandar Raza and Donald Tiripano have done well with the bat but they are left with too much to do.

Pitch and Conditions

The surface at the Shere Bangla National Stadium produced a lot of runs in the first game and a similar kind of pitch is likely to be on offer once again. With the dew likely to play a crucial role later in the evening, the team winning the toss might look to bowl first. There is no chance of rain whatsoever during the match and the temperature will hover in the mid-20s according to AccuWeather.

Team Combination

Bangladesh

Bangladesh are unlikely to make any changes to their line-up. Though there will be a temptation to test their bench strength given that they can’t lose the series now. But it will be unfair on players to be left out after just one match. It also remains to be seen if the uncapped Nasum Ahmed gets an opportunity to showcase his skills in this game.

Probable XI: Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim (WK), Mahmudullah (C), Mahedi Hasan, Afif Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Aminul Islam, Shafiul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.

Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe don’t have many options to replace in the batting line-up and they will just have to hope that the likes of Taylor, Ervine and Williams click in unison to threaten Bangladesh. However, they might make a change or two in the bowling line-up. Chris Mpofu leaked 58 runs in his four overs in the previous game and he might be replaced by Charlton Tshuma or Ainsley Ndlovu.

Probable XI: Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Brendan Taylor, Craig Ervine, Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams (C), Sikandar Raza, Richmond Mutumbami (WK), Tinotenda Mutumbodzi/Ainsley Ndlovu, Donald Tiripano, Carl Mumba, Chris Mpofu/Charlton Tshuma.

Probable Top Performers

Tamim Iqbal – Bangladesh | Sean Williams – Zimbabwe
