Lancashire All Rounder Liam Livingstone created history by scoring the highest ever score in a one-day match. Playing for Nantwich Town against Caldy in an ECB National Club Championship match at Whitehouse Lane, Livingstone scored a stunning 350 runs off 137 balls that included 34 fours and 27 sixes. As many as 298 runs came in boundaries alone.

Livingstone’s knock is believed to have surpassed the previous record of 334 not out by Nikhilesh Surendran in Hyderabad way back in 2008. Walking to bat after the fall of the first wicket, Livingstone smashed the bowlers all over the park from the word go. He reached his 100 off 47 balls with 10 fours and nine sixes.

Livingstone hit the 200 mark 84 balls later and reached the triple century milestone from 123 balls with 31 fours and 22 sixes. He eventually got out for 350 and his side posted a huge score of 579-7 from 45 overs. Chasing a mammoth total, Caldy were reduced for 79-9 and lost the match by a massive 500 run margin.

Liam Livingstone thanks fans for all the messages

After playing the record-breaking innings, Liam Livingstone got a lot of congratulatory messages and he thanked all the well-wishers on his official Twitter handle. The 500-run victory is also another record thanks to Caldy scoring only 79/9 in response to the huge score.

This is not the first time that the Lancashire cricketer from 2nd XI has made the headlines. In 2013, all-rounder Jordan Clark had struck six sixes in an over against Yorkshire 2nd XI. However, unlike Livingstone, he had played T20 and One-Day cricket by then.

This knock will definitely hold Liam Livingstone in good stead and it also remains to be seen if he will be picked in the first XI. The batsman will also be keen to continue this good form and make it count as much as possible.
