BBL 8, Match 6, Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Renegades, Match Prediction: Who will win the Match?
The Renegades lost their previous two matches against the Strikers.
2 Min Read

Both Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades have got off to a winning start in this edition’s Big Bash League (BBL), beating Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers by five and four wickets respectively. Their bowlers were stupendous and the batsmen aided them appropriately to a couple of victories. After the impressive starts, both teams are set to lock horns tomorrow at Adelaide Oval.
Albeit the Strikers would get the home advantage, but the Renegades have a decent enough record at this venue. They have won two out of their four matches against the Strikers in Adelaide. The Strikers won both their matches against Renegades last season and in both instances, Afghan spinner Rashid Khan played a massive part. It would be interesting to see how Tom Cooper’s men tackle Rashid.
Pitch and Conditions
The stadium would be hosting its first match of the series and the track has produced some cracking contests over the years. Most of the matches between these two teams have been won by the team batting first. However, bearing in mind the fact that both have emerged victorious in the opening games, fielding first, it won’t spring a surprise if they bowl first after winning the toss.
Team Combination
Adelaide Strikers
Strikers would go unchanged. Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald are the opening batsmen with left-handed Colin Ingram, also the skipper, to follow. Matthew Short, Jonathan Wells and Jake Lehmann are the other batters. Michael Neser is the all-rounder. The batting has depth with Rashid Khan at number eight. Ben Laughlin, Billy Stanlake and Peter Siddle are the other fast bowlers.
Probable XI
Alex Carey (wk), Jake Weatherald, Colin Ingram (C), Matthew Short, Jonathan Wells, Jake Lehmann, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, Ben Laughlin
Melbourne Renegades
The Renegades also won’t want to tinker with their winning combination. Tim Ludeman and Jack Wildermuth are the opening batsmen with Sam Harper and the experienced Cameron White to bat at three and four respectively. A lot would depend on how Cooper and Nabi bat. Nabi will partner Cameron Boyce in the spin department. The onus would also be on Usman Khan and Richardson.

Tim Ludeman (wk), Jack Wildermuth, Sam Harper, Cameron White, Tom Cooper (C), Mohammad Nabi, Daniel Christian, Will Sutherland, Cameron Boyce, Kane Richardson, Usman Khan
