Ben Stokes and wife Clare have a gala time in self-quarantine as the couple uploads TikTok video for fans

The cricketing world has gone under complete lockdown thanks to the wildly spreading coronavirus pandemic. Events like the Pakistan Super League, the Indian Premier League, international cricket bilateral series and the World Test Championship matches, all have been put on hold, as the entire planet battles a threat that has not been seen in the last 100 years.

The COVID-19 pandemic, which started in Wuhan, China has now gripped all the countries in the world as affected people are experiencing fever, dry coughs and other ailments like trouble in breathing. Travel bans have been implemented across the world, with countries closing their borders with their neighbours and people returning from affected countries have been quarantined on return.

Cricketers resort to new methods in quarantine for keeping themselves entertained

Cricketers worldwide have been placed in either quarantine or self-isolation. Especially cricketers like the South African team which returned from India are being placed in quarantine for the betterment of others, while New Zealand and Australia called back their cricketers from the PSL 5 season as they closed their borders to keep their residents safe.

The players, who are used to playing cricket around the clock the whole year now have nothing to do. The United Kingdom (UK) has experienced over 2600 cases of positive COVID-19 and 20 people are critically serious. Cricketers are using this time to bond with their families and doing weird things to keep themselves entertained, like making TikTok videos with families.

Something similar was seen when Ben Stokes shared a video shot by his wife Clare in which she scares him with a glass of water while he is in the washroom and then proceeds to throw the water on her husband,” Stokes tweeted.

The England team has already returned home from their tour of Sri Lanka and the board has also suspended all cricketing activities in the country, including recreational games and training. New Zealand and Australia suspended their ongoing domestic cricket competitions, while the knockout matches of the PSL 5 have been postponed to a later date.

The Indian Premier League 2020 has been postponed to April 15 as well, with the franchises even ready to quarantine their foreign players for 14 days on arrival in India. The BCCI has been mulling holding the league later in the year, instead of having a truncated tournament.
