Tamim Iqbal has been one of the top performers for Bangladesh in the last few years. His consistency has been impeccable and gets the side off to great starts more often than not. In the recent Asia Cup, Tamim fractured his left-wrist while batting.

However, after the fall of the ninth wicket, he came out and put up a brave show as he <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/wanted-something-nation-says-brave-tamim-iqbal-batting-one-hand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>batted with one hand</strong></a>. The left-hander immediately pulled out of the tournament and it was declared that he would be out of action for at least six weeks. His absence has somewhat affected Bangladesh&#8217;s performance in the tournament.

Opening the innings alongside Tamim will be Pakistan&#8217;s Imam-ul-Haq. Imam was one of the best performers with the bat in the Dubai Test against Australia. He scored 76 runs in the first innings and followed it up with a 48 in the second. With these two knocks, he played a crucial part in helping Pakistan set a huge target for Australia.

After the series against Sri Lanka ended in August, South Africa had a good amount of break. There wasn&#8217;t any action till the end of September again. Hence, to utilise this break well, the out-of-form Hashim Amla decided to ply his trade in the Carribean Premier League (CPL).

He represented the Barbados Tridents in the tournament and played six games for the franchise. While fielding, Amla injured a tendon in his left little finger. This will keep him away for a minimum of three weeks thus and isn&#8217;t a part of the entire Zimbabwe tour.

The Bangladesh all-rounder aggravated a finger injury during the Asia Cup. He was already nursing a fracture but on insistence, he featured in the tournament only to further worsen the situation. In fact, he had to give the last two games of the tournament a miss. His finger swelled-up and it needed immediate treatment.

His misery just doesn&#8217;t end there. There was an infection that built up in his finger and he had to fly to Melbourne to get it treated. The surgery on his finger isn&#8217;t possible until the infection nullifies completely. There is a wild possibility that this injury rules him out of the World Cup next year.

Kedar Jadhav&#8217;s return to international cricket has been a sorry story. He injured his hamstring during the IPL. This forced him out of action all this while and he had to undergo an intense rehabilitation process to return back to the field. Jadhav made his comeback to the Indian team during the Asia Cup.

However, his happiness was short-lived. This time around, the 33-year-old injured his other hamstring while running between the wickets. Hence, this has put him out of action yet again and he is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment at the NCA in Bengaluru.

After the long, gruelling tour of England, Hardik Pandya was back in action during the Asia Cup. The all-rounder hardly had a week&#8217;s rest before he was back on the field in the game against Pakistan. With so much of cricket in the last few months, he should have been rested.

But, the selectors and the management played a gamble by picking him in the side. After bowling just 4.5 overs, he suffered an acute back injury on the follow through of his run-up. Pandya wasn&#8217;t even able to stand up on his feet and had to be stretchered off the field. The management will hope that he recovers completely before the Australia tour as he is going to be a critical part of India&#8217;s plans.

After coming back from this injury, he featured in the <strong>Caribbean Premier League (CPL)</strong> and set the stage on fire. But then, the injury woes didn&#8217;t end there. He missed out on the action for about another month after the CPL. Russell played the APL game against Kabul Zwanan on 9 October 2018. However, he didn&#8217;t seem to be at ease by any means. He got out for a duck, didn&#8217;t bowl and was sidelined for the next match.

With the amount of batting in this line-up, Wriddhiman Saha can be in this side just as a specialist wicketkeeper. Just like Russell, he suffered multiple injuries this year. Axar Patel is the last all-rounder in this XI. With him batting at number 9, there is immense depth in the line-up. The Gujarat all-rounder was with the Indian limited-overs team for a really long time as the backup for the wrist spinners. However, he got limited opportunities in the middle.

While fielding in the first game against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2018, Patel injured his left index finger. The reports revealed that he had a tendon tear and hence was ruled out of the tournament. Josh Hazlewood is out of action since the controversial tour to South Africa. Hazelwood, who is Australia&#8217;s front-line seamer, injured his back in the fourth Test against the Proteas in March-April. The 27-year-old is currently the 10th ranked ICC Test bowler.

Hazelwood is quite similar to former Aussie quick Glenn McGrath. He swings the ball both ways and is quite a nippy customer. In the absence of Mitchell Starc, he shouldered a lot of added responsibility of the team. In the 40 Tests that he has played, he picked up 151 scalps.

Ishant Sharma is one of the most over-worked Indian seamers this year. <p>Josh Hazlewood is out of action since the controversial tour to South Africa. Hazelwood, who is Australia’s front-line seamer, injured his back in the fourth Test against the Proteas in March-April. The 27-year-old is currently the 10th ranked ICC Test bowler.</p>

It takes a lot of hard work to get back to the usual best and it definitely isn&#8217;t an easy process.</p>
<p>Cricketers, like other athletes, often try to maintain paramount fitness levels. However, with the amount of cricket that they play these days, the workload sometimes takes a toll on the body. Modern-day cricketers hardly get any rest because of the jam-packed schedule. Travelling to different places makes things even tougher and the body under immense pressure.</p>
<p>This leads to wear and tear or injuries that they sustained earlier reappear. Despite all the precautions, the body tends to give up and keeps the players at bay for some time. We have seen several top-notch players getting injured in the last two or three months. The count of injuries is so high that we can actually form a proper, competitive XI out of them.</p>

<p>Tamim Iqbal has been one of the top performers for Bangladesh in the last few years. His consistency has been impeccable and gets the side off to great starts more often than not. In the recent Asia Cup, Tamim fractured his left-wrist while batting.</p>
<p>However, after the fall of the ninth wicket, he came out and put up a brave show as he <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/wanted-something-nation-says-brave-tamim-iqbal-batting-one-hand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>batted with one hand</strong></a>. The left-hander immediately pulled out of the tournament and it was declared that he would be out of action for at least six weeks. His absence has somewhat affected Bangladesh&#8217;s performance in the tournament.</p>

<p>Opening the innings alongside Tamim will be Pakistan&#8217;s Imam-ul-Haq. Imam was one of the best performers with the bat in the Dubai Test against Australia. He scored 76 runs in the first innings and followed it up with a 48 in the second. With these two knocks, he played a crucial part in helping Pakistan set a huge target for Australia.</p>
<p>He sustained a finger injury while fielding on the final day of the game. In an attempt to dive for the ball, he undid his finger which has now forced him out of action from the Abu Dhabi Test. Imam needs to undergo a surgery and it will keep him out of the field for some time now. </p>

<p>After the series against Sri Lanka ended in August, South Africa had a good amount of break. There wasn&#8217;t any action till the end of September again. Hence, to utilise this break well, the out-of-form Hashim Amla decided to ply his trade in the Carribean Premier League (CPL).</p>
<p>He represented the Barbados Tridents in the tournament and played six games for the franchise. While fielding, Amla injured a tendon in his left little finger. This will keep him away for a minimum of three weeks thus and isn&#8217;t a part of the entire Zimbabwe tour.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/bangladesh-all-rounder-shakib-al-hasan-ruled-out-for-three-months/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Shakib Al Hasan</strong></a> is treating a nightmare of an injury at the moment. The Bangladesh all-rounder aggravated a finger injury during the Asia Cup. He was already nursing a fracture but on insistence, he featured in the tournament only to further worsen the situation. In fact, he had to give the last two games of the tournament a miss. His finger swelled-up and it needed immediate treatment.</p>
<p>His misery just doesn&#8217;t end there. There was an infection that built up in his finger and he had to fly to Melbourne to get it treated. The surgery on his finger isn&#8217;t possible until the infection nullifies completely. There is a wild possibility that this injury rules him out of the World Cup next year.</p>
<h3>5. Kedar Jadhav | India</h3>

<p>Kedar Jadhav&#8217;s return to international cricket has been a sorry story. He injured his hamstring during the IPL. This forced him out of action all this while and he had to undergo an intense rehabilitation process to return back to the field. Jadhav made his comeback to the Indian team during the Asia Cup.</p>
<p>However, his happiness was short-lived. This time around, the 33-year-old injured his other hamstring while running between the wickets. Hence, this has put him out of action yet again and he is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment at the NCA in Bengaluru.</p>

<p>After the long, gruelling tour of England, Hardik Pandya was back in action during the Asia Cup. The all-rounder hardly had a week&#8217;s rest before he was back on the field in the game against Pakistan. With so much of cricket in the last few months, he should have been rested.</p>
<p>But, the selectors and the management played a gamble by picking him in the side. After bowling just 4.5 overs, he suffered an acute back injury on the follow through of his run-up. Pandya wasn&#8217;t even able to stand up on his feet and had to be stretchered off the field. The management will hope that he recovers completely before the Australia tour as he is going to be a critical part of India&#8217;s plans.</p>

<p>2018 hasn&#8217;t been the best of the years of Windies all-rounder Andre Russell. He has been nurturing several injuries this year and was out of the action more often than not. Firstly, he pulled his hamstring during the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Then, he injured his knee later on in the series against Bangladesh.</p>
<p>After coming back from this injury, he featured in the <strong>Caribbean Premier League (CPL)</strong> and set the stage on fire. But then, the injury woes didn&#8217;t end there. He missed out on the action for about another month after the CPL. Russell played the APL game against Kabul Zwanan on 9 October 2018. However, he didn&#8217;t seem to be at ease by any means. He got out for a duck, didn&#8217;t bowl and was sidelined for the next match.</p>
