Chris Gayle, the Windies batsman, is a happy-go-lucky individual and always wears a smile on his face. He has been an entertainer and a crowd favourite throughout his career. However, the last couple of days haven’t given him much to cheer for the reason that his mother Hazel passed away on Wednesday morning. It has also been learned that the same was owing to a heart attack.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) President Dave Cameron offered his condolences to the cricketer and his family. “On behalf of CWI @windiescricket we would like to send condolences to @henrygayle, Dulla, Michelle, Lyndon and Vanclive on the passing of their mom and also to Mr Gayle and the rest of the Gayle family and friends,” he posted as per reports in www.loopjamaica.com.

Our prayers are with you Chris and the entire family. We hope that the happy memories you shared over the years will be a tower of strength,” a JCA statement mentioned.

In the meantime, the veteran batsman also took some time out and expressed his gratitude for the messages he has got ever since his mother passed away. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Just want to thank everyone for the condolences messages. Mom love is always unconditional love … Time is the healer . Bare with the family through this difficult time . #Blessed,”
