'Constipation is an illness' - Salman Butt slams Michael Vaughan after the England cricketer brings up the topic of match fixing

The tussle between Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt and England cricketer Michael Vaughan is far from over. It all started with Michael Vaughan stating that Kane Williamson would have been the greatest player in the world if he was an Indian. Vaughan also added that if anybody spoke against Virat Kohli, they would get a pelting on social media.

Then, Salman Butt reacted to this comment and added that Vaughan did not even score a single ODI century in his career, but has the knack of stirring up debates. Not one to take it lightly, Vaughan replied back and stated that Butt should have had a clear mind when he was involved in the match-fixing scandal in the year 2010.

And now, Salman Butt has reacted to Vaughan’s comments. Butt stated that Vaughan has picked the match-fixing topic in the wrong context. Adding that Vaughan’s comments were ‘below the belt’, Butt strongly stated that Vaughan was living in the past.

Butt even added that constipation is an illness and alleged that Vaughan has ‘mental constipation’. Butt also opined that it does not matter to him if people’s opinions are still in the past.

“I don’t want to get into details. I just want to say that he’s picked the topic in the wrong context. There is no justification for a reaction like this. This is very below-average, below-the-belt. If he wants to live in the past and wants to talk about it, he surely can.

Constipation is an illness. Things get stuck and they don’t come out that easily. Some people have mental constipation. Their minds are in the past. That doesn’t matter,” said Butt on his YouTube channel.

Salman Butt further added that there was no need for Michael Vaughan to take the debate in an altogether different direction. The former Pakistan batsman even added that if Vaughan had provided more statistical evidence and logic regarding the comparison between Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson, everybody could have learned something.

“We spoke about two great players and there was no need to take it into a different direction. But he has opted to. The year he has mentioned, he can go on. It’s the past and it’s gone. But that doesn’t change the actual fact, which we spoke about. Had he provided some statistical presentation, some logic, some experienced-based observation, it would have been better. We too could have learned something,” said Butt.

Butt also said that it would have been fun if Vaughan had proved himself right by speaking about cricket. Butt concluded by stating that the ‘option’ that Vaughan has picked has defined the kind of person he is.

“Had he spoken about cricket and proved us wrong or proved himself right, it would have been fun. But that didn’t happen. To go below the belt is an option everyone has. It just defines what you pick to do, it defines you. Now that he has done, it, he can keep on doing it as much as he can. It doesn’t affect anyone, but he has just defined himself,” concluded Butt.
