Trinbago Knight Riders continued their dominance in the CPL 2020 as they cruised to their 7th consecutive win by defeating the Jamaica Tallawahs. Colin Munro anchored the TKR’s innings with a 54-ball 65 as the table-toppers reached 184/4. Sunil Narine (29 off 11) and Kieron Pollard (33* off 16) produced quick-fire knocks for the home team. The Tallawahs ended up with 165/6 in their 20 overs despite Andre Russell scoring an unbeaten 50 off 23 deliveries towards the end of the innings.

7 – Trinbago Knight Riders won seven consecutive matches in this CPL; their longest winning streak in the history of CPL. TKR had as many as three streaks of six successive wins in the past.

5 – The Trinbago Knight Riders have won each of their last five matches in the CPL against the Jamaica Tallawahs. Their last defeat against the Jamaica team came in their first meeting of the 2018 edition.


A big total for TKR:

184/4 – Trinbago Knight Riders’ total of 184/4 in this match is the 2nd highest T20 total at the Brian Lara Stadium. The highest is 185/3 by the Knight Riders themselves during the match against Barbados Tridents earlier this season.


Munro’s records:

15 – Colin Munro now has recorded 15 scores of 50+ runs in the CPL which are the 3rd most fifty-plus scores for any player in the league. Only Chris Gayle (17) and Lendl Simmons (16) are ahead of Munro in this list.

1744 – Colin Munro’s 1744 runs in the CPL are now the most by an overseas player in the history of the league. Munro went past Shoaib Malik’s tally of 1707 runs during the Tuesday’s game.

515 – Colin Munro now has scored 515 runs from 10 CPL innings against Jamaica Tallawahs at an average of 64.37. Lendl Simmons (564) is the only other player to amass over 500 CPL runs against Jamaica. Munro’s five fifties against Tallawahs are the most by any player against them.


Russell’s favourite opponent:

4/6Andre Russell has registered four of the six 50+ scores in the CPL against the Trinbago Knight Riders only which includes two hundreds. Russell has amassed 565 runs across 15 CPL matches against TKR at an average of 56.5 and a strike rate of 191.52.


Yet another duck for Walton:

3 – Chadwick Walton has been dismissed for a duck three times in this tournament; the first player to bag as many as three ducks for the Jamaica Tallawahs in a CPL edition. Walton is overall the 7th player to bag three or more ducks in an edition of CPL.
