The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a platform where overseas players have made a significant impact. When it comes to Australian cricketers, many of them like David Warner and Shane Watson have become fan favourites due to their consistent performances and match-winning abilities. From the inaugural edition in 2008 the cricketers from the champion side have played a big part in the success of various franchises.
But, not all Australian players have lived up to the expectations in the IPL 2025. The 18th edition is getting close to the end and some players might not find a spot in the next IPL auction based on their recent performances.

3. Spencer Johnson (KKR)

The left-arm fast bowler Spencer Johnson was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the mega auction ahead of the 18th season. The pacer has failed to make an impact by taking only one wicket in four matches at an economy rate of 11.73. In IPL 2024, the 29-year-old was part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) and had displayed similar performance.
For the Ahmedabad-based side, the young seamer played nine matches and managed to take just five wickets overall. There is not much improvement in the form, and so the left-arm bowler needs to go unsold in the next year auction, as KKR are most likely to release him as well.
