The Shakib Al Hasan-led side hasn’t won any match after their six-wicket win against Afghanistan in their maiden game. In week three, they lost to two big sides India and South Africa due to their poor show in all departments of the game.</p>

<p>England have emerged as one of the worst-performing teams in this World Cup. On India’s batting-friendly surfaces, England bowlers have been completely ineffective. In week three, South Africa vanquished the Jos Buttler-led team by 229 runs at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.</p>
<p>This hammering became England’s biggest defeat in the One-Day International (ODI) format. In the crucial game, Jos Buttler elected to bowl first after winning the toss, and following this decision, England bowlers had the responsibility to take on South Africa’s batting unit with confidence.</p>
<p>However, English bowlers struggled on the batting paradise and gave away 399 runs in 50 overs. Adil Rashid pushed himself on the difficult pitch and took two wickets in his 10-over spell at an economy of 6.10. Except for Rashid, all other bowlers got beaten up mercilessly.&nbsp;</p>

Scott Edwards and his men lost the game to the1996 champions but the Orange Army gave a tough time in the contest on several occasions.</p>
<p>Defending a decent total of 262 runs, the Dutch side dismissed the top-order batters Kusal Perera and Kusal Mendis early and returned into the game. In the end, Sri Lanka held their nerves and bagged a five-wicket win but the Netherlands’ fighting spirit was appreciated.</p>
<p>Aryan Dutt put up a disciplined show with the ball, picking up three wickets against Sri Lanka. Following the Sri Lanka challenge, the Dutch team got a 309-run beating from Australia in Delhi. Fielding first in the game, the Netherlands’ bowlers looked helpless and struggled to stop the flow of runs. After the first innings’ action, the Men in Orange splurged 399 runs.</p>

<p>At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. His decision backfired as the Aussie openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh completely outplayed Pakistan’s bowling unit with their spunky batting attitude. Both batters stitched a 259-run opening partnership which helped the Men in Yellow post 367 runs on the board.</p>

<p>After the difficult first two weeks, Sri Lanka played attacking cricket in the third week. In the absence of Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Mendis led the team confidently against the Netherlands and guided the team to a comfortable five-wicket win with his captaincy at the EKANA Stadium. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Earlier, Mendis lost the toss to Scott Edwards and Sri Lanka took the field to field first. Kasun Rajitha stepped up in the must-win game and delivered an early breakthrough to the team in the first powerplay, claiming the scalps of Vikramjit Singh and Max O’Dowd. Rajitha got the support of Dilshan Madushanka, who also wreaked havoc on Dutch batters with his excellent bowling.</p>

After beating a quality side like England in Delhi, the Afghan team tasted success against another quality team. This time, they outclassed Pakistan by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.</p>
<p>This was their maiden win against the Men in Green in ODI cricket. In Afghanistan’s scintillating victory, their bowlers made a vital contribution. On Chennai’s turning track, Afghan spinners didn’t allow Pakistan batters to score runs at a rapid pace. Noor Ahmed, who was playing his debut World Cup game, bagged three wickets in the match and ended up as the leading wicket-taker in the game &nbsp;</p>
<p>Naveen-ul-Haq splurged 52 runs in his seven-over spell but claimed the important scalps of Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan. Mohammad Nabi showcased his experience with the ball, picking up Saud Shakeel’s wicket. Rashid Khan couldn’t take any wickets but delivered an economical 10-over spell of 0/41 to his team.</p>

The Black Caps lost to the Men in Blue by four wickets and this was the Kiwi side’s first defeat to India in the International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament after 20 years.</p>
<p>New Zealand batted first after losing the toss and scored 273 runs on the board, riding on Daryl Mitchell’s centurious knock and Rachin Ravindra’s superb half-century. Unlike the 2019 World Cup edition, New Zealand bowlers failed to build pressure on Indian batters.</p>
<p>Lockie Ferguson tried to bring his team back into the game, dismissing both openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill but in the end, he didn’t get success. Trent Boult and Matt Henry failed to produce magical spells.
