Several Indian cricketers showcased their brilliance during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, earning recognition and cementing their places in the squad. Many of these players are now set to participate in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2025, scheduled to begin on August 28, with the final to be held from September 11 to 15.
South Zone and West Zone have already secured their spots in the semi-finals, while the remaining four zones will battle it out for the final two semi-final places. Here, let us have a look at the players from the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy squad of the Indian team who will be featuring in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2025.
Central Zone: Kuldeep Yadav, Dhruv Jurel

The wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel will captain the Central Zone team in the Duleep Trophy. His squad includes Notable names like Rajat Patidar, Deepak Chahar, Harsh Dubey, and Khaleel Ahmed. Jurel played only one match in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, the final Test at The Oval, scoring 19 and 34 runs. He also served as a specialist wicketkeeper in the third and fourth matches, replacing Rishabh Pant, who was sidelined due to injuries sustained during the tour.
The left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav is part of the Central Zone squad and is expected to play a key role, especially in their first match against North East Zone. The 30-year-old was part of the England tour squad but did Not feature in any matches. He boasts an impressive Test average of 22.16 and a solid domestic record. Kuldeep is likely to lead the spin attack alongside Harsh Dubey.
East Zone: Abhimanyu Easwaran (vc), Akash Deep

The top-order batter Abhimanyu Easwaran will be representing East Zone as vice-captain, with Ishan Kishan leading the side. Though he was part of India’s setup even during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Easwaran has yet to make his Test debut. With a domestic batting average exceeding 45, he is regarded as a highly talented prospect and can help his team travel smoothly in the Duleep Trophy.
The right-arm pacer Akash Deep features in the East Zone squad. He played three matches during the England tour, taking 13 wickets, including a six-wicket haul at Edgbaston. His impactful bowling was instrumental in India’s victory in the Birmingham Test, where he dismantled the English batting line-up in the second innings. His accuracy and discipline will be crucial in the Duleep Trophy for his side.
North Zone: Shubman Gill (c), Arshdeep Singh, Anshul Kamboj, Harshit Rana

Indian Test captain Shubman Gill leads the North Zone squad in the Duleep Trophy. Gill was the highest run-scorer in the five-match England Test series, amassing 754 runs in 10 innings. His tally included four centuries, including a career-best 269 in the second Test. Gill is expected to replicate his dominant form and guide his team to victory.
The left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is also part of the North Zone squad. He missed the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy due to an injury sustained during a practice session between the third and fourth Tests. Despite high expectations for his return in the final Test, he was not included in the playing XI. Now fully recovered, Arshdeep is expected to lead the pace attack in the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
The 24-year-old Anshul Kamboj has been added to the North Zone squad. He came into the Indian setup as a replacement for the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy. He played one Test at Old Trafford, Manchester, where he took one wicket. Though his performance was modest, he is expected to contribute more in the Duleep Trophy.
The right-arm pacer Harshit Rana has been included in the North Zone squad. He was briefly part of India’s Test setup but was sent back before making a significant impact. Rana has played two matches for India and has delivered average performances in the domestic circuit so far.
South Zone: Narayan Jagadeesan

The wicketkeeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan has been named in the South Zone squad. He was brought in as backup to Dhruv Jurel after Rishabh Pant’s injury in the fourth Test ruled Pant out for the final Test. Jagadeesan has a strong domestic record and is likely to feature prominently for South Zone.
West Zone: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur (c)

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is included in the West Zone squad. He enjoyed a productive England tour, scoring 411 runs in five matches, including two centuries and two half-centuries. The left-hander’s ability to dominate bowlers once in rhythm makes him a key player for West Zone.
The right-arm pacer Shardul Thakur has been appointed captain of the West Zone squad. Although his impact on the England tour was limited, playing two matches, taking two wickets, and scoring around 40 runs, he is expected to lead by example in the Duleep Trophy. His leadership will be important, especially with other key players like Shreyas Iyer and Ruturaj Gaikwad also in the squad.
