Mumbai Indians have arguably been the most dominating team in the Indian Premier League. However, they had a season to forget at the 15th edition of the lucrative T20 tournament. They were the wooden spoon holders with just four wins in 14 games under their belt. It was one of those rare seasons where Mumbai just could not get their act together from day one.

Their poor showing at the IPL Mega Auction was also one of the reasons the five-time IPL champions struggled throughout their campaign. MI needs to get things right if they are to get back to their old vintage self and the first step could be making the correct use of the upcoming IPL 2023 trading window.

The think tank might look to release players who are not in their plans for the following seasons. Let us look at the players MI will trade in the trading window.

5 Players MI might trade in trading window:

5. Anmolpreet Singh

Anmolpreet Singh was re-signed by Mumbai Indians at the Mega Auction 2022. Despite being part of Mumbai’s setup since 2019, he was not given many chances to showcase his skills with the bat. But at the start of the 2022 season with Suryakumar Yadav out injured, the Punjab batter had a golden opportunity to make a case for himself.

However, the 24-year-old was not able to make a mark with his performances. In the two outings, he could only manage 13 runs and was dropped from the side on Suryakumar's arrival. Though the Mumbai side tried various combinations during their dismal season, Anmolpreet was not given a second run.

Also, Mumbai found a gem in Tilak Verma who was one of their shining stars of the season. The southpaw aggregated 397 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 131.02. Tilak’s coming of age also meant the Mumbai think tank could not look beyond him as far as an Indian middle-order batter goes. Anmolpreet does not seem to be in the team's plans and his release can be on the cards.
