3. Sherfane Rutherford
Sherfane Rutherford is one of the rising stars in the West Indies cricketing circles. He is renowned for his power-hitting prowess and has proven his mettle in T20 competitions around the world. He had a brilliant season in the Caribbean Premier League in 2021 which saw him aggregate 262 runs at a strike rate of 127.18 and RCB roped in the 24-year-old at the 2022 Mega Auction.
Australian star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell being unavailable for the starting few games of the season gave Rutherford a chance to show his batting might. But the Caribbean star failed to make a mark with his performances.
In three outings, Rutherford could only score 33 runs at a poor strike rate of 66.00. He was sidelined from the team on Maxwell’s arrival and did not play a game after that. RCB seems to have moved past the West Indies all-rounder and they can release him at the forthcoming trading window and free up an overseas slot.
