1. Jason Behrendorff
Jason Behrendorff has been a proven performer in the T20 circuit. He has been a strike force with the new ball rattling batting line-ups with his swing. The veteran pacer has featured in 105 games in the shortest format and bagged 117 wickets at an economy of 7.41.
The veteran pacer was outstanding in the Big Bash League 2021-22 and picked 16 wickets in 13 matches played for Perth Scorchers at an economy of 7.32. Behrendorff was picked by RCB at the mega auction 2022 to add variety to the bowling line-up.
The 32-year-old was unavailable for the starting games of the season due to national commitments. Upon arrival, his compatriot Josh Hazlewood was selected over Behrendorff in the team. Hazlewood wreaked havoc with the ball and took 20 wickets in 12 games. His phenomenal showings made the left-arm pacer’s entry into the side difficult.
Behrendorff was not given a game and this might be an indication that the RCB think tank does not look at him in their plans going forward. Bangalore might release the Australian pacer and free up an overseas slot that can be better used in the upcoming mini-auction.
