Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have completely revitalised their batting unit ahead of the 2026 IPL season. The emergence of Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis towards the second half of last season was a huge blessing in disguise. Mhatre scored at a strike-rate of 189 while Brevis attacked at 180 in 2025.

CSK’s batting has been elevated by the addition of Sanju Samson. The former RR captain is one of IPL’s modern-day greats and is in the form of his life. The 31-year-old was the Player of the Tournament at the recently-concluded 2026 T20 World Cup where he guided India to the title.

The five-time champions’ batting will also be bolstered by the return of captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and the presence of youngsters Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer, for whom CSK paid a combined INR 28.40 crore.
