5. South Africa- 7/10
Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi were regarded as the pace speedsters who would hand the side major breakthroughs in the games. However, the duo ended up leaking 40 runs between them in only four over with an economy rate of 10.00, however, Ngidi eventually made up for it by taking two wickets. Rabada on the contrary ran out of luck as he was not able to scalp any against Zimbabwe.
However, it was the following match against Bangladesh that Rabada returned to headlines along with Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi for picking crucial wickets. Shamsi and Nortje picked a whopper seven wickets between them that completely bamboozled the Bangla innings and toppled them for just 101 in the chase for 205.
While the bowlers seem to pick up momentum, the performances in the last week have been well but a lot more is expected by the side. The forthcoming weeks are crucial for the last four spots and the bowlers will need shift gears.
