The Netherlands and Pakistan locked horns in the 29th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday, October 30. Dutch skipper Scott Edwards won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first at the bouncy turf of the Perth Stadium. Batting first, the Netherlands couldn’t survive the bowling attack of Pakistan.

Pakistan's line-up, included the likes of vice-captain Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim and they bundled up the Dutch batting order only at the score of 91 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

While defending the target, the Netherlands also tried hard to maintain the pace of the game and made the Men in Green to bat till the 14th over to cross the line. However, Scott Edward's men eventually ended up on the losing side and lost the match by six wickets.

Even after the third loss in the tournament, skipper Edwards looks quite optimistic for the future of the team in the game and also expressed his point of focus for the remainder of the tournament.

Now we will focus to win the remaining two matches – Scott Edwards

Scott was asked about how the mindset of the team will be in the remaining two matches of the tournament.

“Obviously, it’s pretty much impossible to make it to the semis now, so now we will focus to win the remaining two matches and hopefully, make a good spot for us in Dutch cricket,” said Edwards in the post-match press conference.

Later on, the 26-year-old also addressed the journalists about the latest update on his teammate and young all-rounder Bas de Leede who got injured by a nasty bouncer from Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf.

“Hopefully, he (de Leede) is available but there is not any update yet, we are also waiting for the reports,” he concluded.

On the other end, the game turned out to be another nightmare for Pakistan skipper Babar even after Pakistan's win. He fell prey to a run-out only at an individual score of four. He has scored only eight runs in three innings at a horrible average of 2.6.
