'2019 se industry mein hoon' - RJ Mahvash slams trolls crediting Yuzvendra Chahal for making her career

RJ Mahvash finally broke her silence on the continuous trolling and speculation around her professional career, particularly the claims that cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was the reason behind her success. In a recent video posted on June 20, Mahvash slammed the online trolls with proof of her work in the media industry and stated that her career was already successful before she was linked to Chahal.

Ever since Chahal’s divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma in March 2025, RJ Mahvash’s name has frequently been romantically linked to the spinner. Her support during Chahal’s IPL matches triggered numerous dating rumours. She was also spotted at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium during India's finale win in the Champions Trophy 2025.

Over the next couple of months, she had been supporting the leg-spinner's IPL team Punjab Kings and often seen cheering for the side from the stands. However, Mahvash has consistently clarified that she is single and shares only a friendship with Chahal.

In her Instagram video captioned, "Jab tak khud ke liye nahi bologe, koi tumhare liye nahi bolega" (If you don’t speak for yourself, no one will), Mahvash began by addressing a comment that read, “Yuzi bhai ne iska career bana diya.” In response, she said, “2019 se iss industry mein hoon, aao dikhati hoon apna career.” The video then reveals a series of visuals showcasing her career, from radio shows to hosting cricket events and even producing a Bollywood film, Section 108, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

To those questioning her cricket knowledge, Mahvash replied,  ‘Cricket pitch tak pohach gayee abto to ye, cricket ke baare me kuch janti bhi hai ye (She has reached the cricket pitch, but does she know anything about the sport).’ She backed this with clips of her interviews with cricket legends like MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, and Harbhajan Singh during major global tournaments over the last few years.

Another troll mocked her by saying she started meeting celebrities only after her association with Chahal. To that, Mahvash displayed pictures alongside popular celebrities from the film and glamour industry like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana among many others.

The popular celebrity didn’t stop there. She went on to share her accomplishments, including being the author of a couple of books and the lead actress in Amazon Prime’s Pyaar Paisa Profit. She further showed clips of award wins and said, “Itni toh tumhari umar bhi nahi hai jitna lamba mera career raha hai. Scientist baap ki bachi hoon, aur baaki ka talent Amazon pe dekh lena.”

Mahvash concluded by extending her support for Chahal. “Main poori duniya ko bolungi ki jisey main jaanti hoon, woh super-talented hai. I will never back down from supporting a friend,” she said. The leg spinner dropped a comment on her post, reading, "Respect! More power to you!"
