Shortly after Smriti Mandhana's father was hospitalized ahead of the star cricketer's wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal, the now-postponed wedding has faced yet another disappointing news. The groom Palash had to be rushed to a private hospital after facing viral infection, adding to the woes of the Mandhana and the Muchhal family.

If the reports are to be believed, the issue with Palash wasn't as serious, though, as he met the doctor at the hospital and returned shortly after. A viral infection and increased acidity issues have been cited as the reason Smriti's fiancé had to check in to the hospital. However, the issue is not as serious currently.

"Palash had to go to a private hospital for treatment due to a viral infection and increased acidity. However, the issue wasn't serious. After receiving treatment, Palash has already left the hospital and returned to the hotel," a source was quoted as saying by NDTV in their report.

Doctor provides update on Smriti Mandhana's father's health

What is the health update on Smriti Mandhana's father — Shrinivas Mandhana?

Meanwhile, Dr. Naman Shah, the doctor attending Shrinivas Mandhana confirmed that the patient had complained of a pain around his chest region. Upon further medical procedures, a few complications were noted in his health. However, Dr. Shah also believes that the health is expected to get better since he is under the observation of the entire medical team.

"At around 1.30 pm, Mr Srinivas Mandhana got left-sided chest pain, we call it 'angina' in medical term. As the symptoms surfaced, his son called me, we sent ambulance, he was shifted to hospital. We found out in ECG, other reports, that cardiac enzymes are elevated, hence we need to keep him in observation. BP is also elevated. The whole team is monitoring. If situation exacerbates, we will have to do angiography... Smriti is in contact with us, hopefully he will be stable by tomorrow," he said.

It is worth mentioning that the wedding of the two has been postponed for an indefinite period, and the decorations at the planned venue are also being taken off.
