Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has expressed huge grief over the passing of veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle. Notably, Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 on April 12, 2026 due to a heart attack, which further led to a multi-organ failure, confirmed by Dr. Pratit Samdani. She took her last breath on Sunday at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Her last rites will be carried on Monday at the Shivaji Park in Dadar, a ground where Sachin himself grew up playing cricket. Tendulkar, one of the most decorated cricketers in internationals, has said that his bond with Asha Bhosle was like a family. The 53-year-old has expressed that he has been left speechless by the sudden passing of one of the most iconic voices of the world.

"A deeply sad day for India and for music lovers across the world. For us, Asha Tai was family. Today, words feel too small for the loss we feel. One moment the heart falls silent, and the next, it drifts through the countless melodies she gifted all of us. It feels as though time itself has paused," Tendulkar wrote in a social media post on his official 'X' handle.

"Yet through her eternal songs, she will remain timeless forever. Thank you, Tai, for filling our lives with warmth, grace, and unforgettable music. We will miss you beyond words, Asha Tai," Tendulkar added.

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla also took time to put forward his grief. Meanwhile, current head coach of the Indian team and former opening batter Gautam Gambhir has also shared sadness at the death of Asha Bhosle. Gambhir has said that she will always remain in the memories through her elegance and talent.

"Saddened by the demise of legendary Asha Bhosle Ji. Her elegance and incomparable talent will always remain in our memories," Gambhir wrote on his social media.
