India suffered a heartbreaking loss against their arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening 2022 Asia Cup Super-Four clash on Sunday. India put a challenging 182-run target while batting first at Dubai International Stadium after a brilliant 60-run knock from Virat Kohli. But the bowlers struggled to defend the total as Pakistan registered an important victory by five wickets.
Indian bowlers managed to bowl out Pakistan in the group stage fixture with pacers taking all the ten wickets but they could dismiss only five batters in the Super 4 clash against Pakistan.
Fans have now taken to social media to criticize the Indian bowling unit that has been performing below average in the UAE. Many even pointed out Jasprit Bumrah's absence in the tournament, who suffered a back injury before the squad announcement last month. Bumrah remains the key bowler for the Men in Blue for his ability to deliver in the death overs and it is clear that the Indian bowling unit is dependent on the right-arm pacer.
Sanjana Ganesan shuts troll in style
The 28-year-old pacer is currently working on his recovery from the injury and is expected to be back in time for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup in October-November. Bumrah's wife and TV presenter, Sanjana Ganesan posted a picture with the player on her Instagram account on Monday.
"Just a lovely #throwback photo of Jasprit, me and Jasprit’s sneakers (the real stars of this picture)," she captioned the post.
Reacting to her post, a user, upset over India's loss against Pakistan, made a crass comment. But Sanjana, who usually doesn't engage with the trollers, couldn't control herself and gave a sassy reply. "Throwback photo hai dikhta hai nahi hai kya, chomu aadmi (Can't you see that this is a throwback photo, stupid person)," Sanjana replied.
