DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 set for 26th February: All you need to know about the tournament

The DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 will begin on February 26, 2024. Sixteen teams will be participating in the 18^th edition of the tournament with defending champions Reliance 1 facing BPCL in the opening match.

The teams will be split into four equal groups, with each team playing three games in a round-robin format to determine the top two teams in each group. The qualifying teams will play the knockouts, beginning with the quarterfinals.

The final is scheduled to be played on March 9. All matches will be played across the DY Patil University Ground, DY Patil Stadium, and DY Patil, Talegaon.

Reliance 1, BPCL, Central Railway, Jain Irrigation form Group 1 while RBI, DY Patil Blue, Route Mobile, TATA SC are in Group B. Group C includes Canara Bank, DY Patil Red, Bank of Baroda, Income Tax whereas Group D has CAG, Indian Oil, Nirlon SC, Mumbai Customs.

Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan and Piyush Chawla along with a list of local players are expected to take part in the T20 tournament. Notably, Indian all-rounder Pandya is making a return to cricketing action after a prolonged absence following an ankle injury he picked against Bangladesh during the 2023 ODI World Cup at home.
