ENG W vs IND W 2025: Nat Sciver-Brunt returns fully fit as England name ODI squad

England Women have named their 15-member squad for the ODI leg of the ongoing multi-format series against India Women. Skipper Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who had missed a part of the T20I series due to an injury, has returned to full fitness and has been included as the leader of the pack for the 50-over leg of the tour.

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave a statement regarding Sciver-Brunt's availability for the ODI leg of the series starting July 16, and told that she will be featuring with her all-rounder skills to add to her captaincy mettle for the three games. Meanwhile, Sophie Ecclestone and Maia Bouchier are also among the prominent names in the squad.

"Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt is expected to play a full part in the series despite missing the end of the Vitality IT20 series with a groin injury," an official statement from the board on Tuesday, July 8 read.

The hosts have been trailing behind in the T20Is, with a margin of 1-2 in the five-match series, with a couple of games left to be played. The Indians won the first game comprehensively as Smriti Mandhana hit a swashbuckling hundred. The Tammy Beaumont-led side bounced back in the second game, but the third one belonged to the Indians once again, as the teams will now clash in am all-important fourth match on Wednesday with series on the line.

Speaking of the three games in the ODI series, the Rose Bowl in Southampton will be hosting the opening encounter between the two sides, post which the teams will travel to London for the second match at the Lord's in London. The third and final fixture of the series will be held at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street on July 22 to culminate the tour.
