IND-W vs SL-W 2025: India Women to host Sri Lanka for five T20Is in December

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the schedule for the upcoming Women’s T20I series as India Women hosts Sri Lanka for a five-match contest next month. The series will begin in Visakhapatnam before moving to Thiruvananthapuram for the remaining fixtures.

This will be the first-ever international assignment for both the sides after playing the home ODI World Cup. The Women in Blue were emphatic to lift their maiden ICC title at the event, and will now go shoulder-to-shoulder against the Sri Lankan side to host them for a 10-day-long series in the shortest format of the game.

Notably, the Indians are currently ranked third on the ICC WT20I Team Rankings, whereas, the Lankan Lionesses stand seventh. However, both have been fierce competitors in the past, and the similar can be expected when they square off in the upcoming series as well.

The first, third, and fourth games of the series have been scheduled on a weekend, allowing for higher live fan attendance, both at the venue and the digital and linear networks. The first couple of games will be played in Visakhapatnam — the ground that also hosted a few games at the Women's World Cup 2025 recently. The rest of the series will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.

The Indian team's squad for the series will be announced in due course by the Senior Women's Selection Committee, with captain Harmanpreet Kaur expected to lead the pack once again.
