Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has completed 600 fours in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He achieved the milestone during the IPL 2023 clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali on Thursday, April 20.
On April 11, Delhi Capitals (DC) opener David Warner completed 600 fours in the IPL. The DC skipper accomplished this feat during the IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In the match, he scored 51 off 47 balls, which consisted of six fours, bringing his total of fours to 604. However, he now has 608 fours to his name in the history of IPL.
The Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan has struck the most fours in IPL history, with 730. Kohli is third in terms of hitting fours, trailing only Dhawan and Warner in the IPL. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma and former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Suresh Raina are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively on this list.
Kohli is leading the RCB with regular skipper Faf du Plessis included in the playing XI as an Impact Player. Notably, the South Africa batter picked up an injury during RCB's game against the Chennai Super Kings.
PBKS currently sits fifth in the IPL 2023 points table, having earned six points from five matches, winning three and losing two. Following back-to-back losses to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Punjab returned to winning ways with a two-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 21. Notably, In Dhawan's absence, the team was led by all-rounder Sam Curran.
RCB, on the other hand, is currently in eighth place with four points from five matches, comprising two wins and three defeats. The franchise had lost by eight runs to MS Dhoni and Co. in their previous match Both teams will be aiming for a win since the two points are vital for them to stay in the playoffs race.
