Ace batter Karun Nair is known to express his feelings through the internet quite often. The cricketer has now taken to his official social media handle once again to convey a cryptic message, which came right after the Indian team's batting order failed to put up a show in the ongoing second Test against South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

Nair's social media post slightly hinted towards how he unfairly lost his place from the team after a subpar tour of England. India lost four wickets in quick succession during the opening session of the third day of the encounter, and Nair seems to be having a feel that he was tailor-made to save the national team from such a horrendous collapse.

“Some conditions carry a feel you know by heart — and the silence of not being out there adds its own sting,” Nair posted on his official 'X' account after the opening session on the third day.

After the South Africans scored 489 in the first innings, batting for almost two days, India started cautiously with a half-century opening stand between KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, by the end of the first session on the Day 3, the Indians had lost four wickets with just 102 runs on the board, as the hosts still trailed by a huge deficit of 387 runs.

With not much batting left, the onus was on skipper Rishabh Pant to take the team forward, but he, too, fell prey to the Proteas as Marco Jansen trapped him with an edge to the wicketkeeper Kyle Verrynne. Shortly thereafter, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravindra Jadeja also made their way back to the dressing room, as the Indians found themselves in a huge spot of bother.

Speaking of Karun Nair's recent run of form with the bat, he has been in some exceptional touch for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. With 602 runs in just seven innings at an average of 100.33, he is the fourth-highest run-getter in the tournament currently with a couple of hundreds and as many fifties to his name. He will next be seen in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, starting November 26.
