Experts from the Mercedes Benz team visited India cricketer Rishabh Pant's accident spot in Roorkee on Tuesday, January 24. It is understood that the team visited the spot in order to inspect the vehicle which caught fire after the accident.

The southpaw was driving a Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupe which caught fire after crashing into the divider on December 30 morning. Following the gut-wrenching accident, Pant was pulled out of the damaged vehicle by the local people and police and was taken to a nearby hospital immediately for medical assistance.

Initially, he was receiving treatment at the Max Hospital in Dehradun, before being airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment. Pant recently gave an update on his health to his fans around the world with a tweet as he thanked the two men who rescued him after the car crash.

“I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted,” Pant wrote on Twitter.

Rishabh Pant likely to be out of 2023 ODI World Cup

Given the severity of injuries sustained by the wicketkeeper-batter, it is understood that he will most likely miss the ODI World Cup scheduled to be held in October-November in India. The 25-year-old will also miss the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Delhi Capitals could be led by Australia veteran David Warner.

Meanwhile, team India is riding high on the back of successive series wins against Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the 50-over format. The Men in Blue will play the BlackCaps in three T20I matches before shifting their focus onto the red-ball series against fierce rivals Australia starting February 9.

The Test series between hosts India and Australia proves to be vital for both teams as they will aim to secure a berth in the finals of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle.
