Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Rilee Rossouw has drawn a direct comparison between the Indian Premier League and the Pakistan Premier League, saying that both competitions have their own set of goods and bads about them.

In his statement, the South African cricketer has said that playing in the IPL is a very lengthy process, while competing in the Pakistani tournament offers a lot more fierce battles between the participating teams. He further said that many IPL team owners belong to the Bollywood industry, and that is one of the reasons why the league looks more like a movie than an actual game of cricket.

"Both leagues have their pros and cons. IPL is a very long tournament, and Pakistan is a much more compact tournament where the competition is a lot more fierce, and the IPL obviously has the whole Bollywood behind it so it's a lot more of a movie than actual cricket, so both of them have their pros and cons," Rossouw was quoted as saying by Times Now.

Notably, Rossouw is currently representing Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 2026 and has been having a horrible campaign with the bat. In four innings, Rossouw has managed to score only 79 runs at an average of 19.75 and a strike rate of 111.26, which is pathetic to say the least in the modern-day 20-over format. His solitary half-century in the tournament came against Rawalpindiz, a team that is at the bottom of the table.

In the IPL, Rossouw has played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) apart from RCB, a side that he made his debut for in 2014. He last featured in the cash-rich tournament in 2024, where he represented PBKS, scoring 211 runs at a strike rate of 181.89.
