India and Pakistan faced off in the Super Four stage match of the Asia Cup 2023. India managed to post a massive total of 356 runs on the board, courtesy of brilliant centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Pakistan had a disastrous start to their chase as Jasprit Bumrah proved to be unplayable in his opening spell. He dismissed Imamul Haq with an exceptional delivery, and then Hardik Pandya, who came on as the first change bowler, took the wicket of struggling Pakistani captain Babar Azam.
However, as the eleventh over was completed, rain interrupted play and the covers were brought onto the field. If the match were to restart and become a 20-over game, Pakistan would have the following scenarios for their target:
DLS score for Pakistan as per number of wickets in hand:
- If they lost 1 wicket, the DLS par score for 20 overs would be 107 runs.
- If they lost 2 wickets, the DLS par score for 20 overs would be 121 runs.
- If they lost 3 wickets, the DLS par score for 20 overs would be 139 runs.
- If they lost 4 wickets, the DLS par score for 20 overs would be 160 runs.
- If they lost 5 wickets, the DLS par score for 20 overs would be 187 runs.
DLS Target for Pakistan as per number of Overs:
- Pakistan's target will be 200 if it gets reduced to 20 overs.
- Revised DLS target for Pakistan will be 237 for a 25-over game.
- DLS target after 30 overs for Pakistan will be 267.
