Salman Agha won an important toss and chose to bowl first on Saturday. Shaheen Afridi backed up this decision by picking up the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius off the second and third deliveries of the first over.
Reeza Hendricks and Dewald Brevis tried to resurrect the ship with the 38-run stand, but they couldn't up the ante. Both batters got starts but scored their runs at strike rates of less than 100.

Babar Azam played a stellar knock, scoring 68 off 47 deliveries. He forged a 76-run partnership off 51 balls to take Pakistan to the brink. From 120/2 in the 16th over, Pakistan slumped to 134/6 with 10 balls to spare. However, Usman Khan and Faheem Ashraf took the hosts to victory in 19 overs, with four wickets in the bank.

Babar Azam's 68 off 47 deliveries helped Pakistan reach within touching distance of the 140-run target. He used his experience, attacking some bowlers and defending others. When he was dismissed, Pakistan needed just 15 runs to win off 22 balls.

Shaheen Afridi gave Pakistan a brilliant start, picking up two wickets off consecutive deliveries in the first over of the match. He returned at the back end of the innings and dismissed Lizaad Williams before finishing with figures of 3/26 in four overs.

He also has the most ducks (10) for Pakistan in T20I cricket. On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi registered his 19th three-for in T20Is. He is joint-second on the list of bowlers with the most three-fors in T20Is among full-member teams.
